Liptak-Beaudette Duoback to ensembles The Liptak-Beaudette
Duo, consisting of Pia Liptak and Sylvie Beaudette, has been performing
since 2001. The duo’s series “Nordic Harmonies” features music by composers from the
performers’ native countries – Denmark and Canada. In 2005 Pia and Sylvie received the Chapin
Grant for their research tour to Montreal exploring Canadian violin and piano repertoire and
meeting with Canadian composers. Much of the duo’s repertoire emphasizes works of the
present and the recent past, with a large representation of American music. The Liptak-
Beaudette Duo’s performance activity includes concerts, radio broadcasts, and lectures
throughout New York State, including appearances at Skidmore College, SUNY New Paltz, the
University of Rochester, the NYS Music Teacher’s Association conference, the Eastman School
